Houdini!

Khalina has a safari roller toy that is supposed to encourage her physical development. She likes to bang on it in her pac'n'play because it makes noise. Look at our little Houdini figure out how to use it to stand up.....with a little encouragement from daddy.

We went to see Moe's family today and then went to the North County Fair Mall... good times!

Khalina is almost able to stand up on her own. You can't see but she's off the bottom of the pack in play at a really strange angle. Hopefully I can get a better shot next time she does it. :)

Heart to Heart Bear

My good friend Beth at work gave Khalina a heart to heart bear that she had since she was 11! How special for Khalina to get such a keepsake! And she LOVES him...

I'm a big girl now!

Khalina has been able to sit up for some time now... but she could never quite figure out how to get into the position on her own. So imagine my surprise when i check on her and see this...

I decided to put a piece of ice on Khalina's saucer to see what she would do with it. Turns out ice is harder to pick up than she thought!

So Khalina has the funny obsession with the remotes and our cell phones. She uses one finger and tries to push the buttons on them. Apparently it's even funnier when Daddy takes the remote and tosses it in the air.....

Visiting Papa and Nana

We drove to Julian for the day to have Buffalo Burgers and enjoy the shopping. At the end of the day we bought an apple pie and went to mom and dad's to share it with them. Poor Khalina was soooo tired in the car... but she perked right up when papa played with her!

This was our evening at the beach. Mommy and Daddy took Khalina to the pier. It was really cold so we all had to bundle up!

So Khalina has this lip smacking thing she will do if you kiss or cluck at her. Mom was trying to make her laugh and she was cracking up, but she just couldn't help responding to dad's clucking at her from the couch. Her first real life dilemma! She didn't know who to pay attention to... so she did the most logical thing... both! You have to listen carefully to hear dad.

And of course she can't resist being a girl if she knows she's on camera... so she stops paying attention to both mom and dad and starts being the star of the show. (as if she wasn't already!) Look at how she appeases mom with a giggle here and there at the end. lol

So Moe caught ANOTHER rattlesnake on our work property. Must be all the construction going on. This snake measured 5 FEET!!!

Apparently he was dangerously close to this lady. I'm so glad he didn't get bit! He's stressin the wifey out with this stuff... ARGH! I wish he didn't have to even get close to these guys.

Khalina's Shopping Trip

Blake and Angela got me a Baby Bjorn for Khalina and she loves it. It lets me get around stores really easily without having to look for an elevator for the stroller. Plus she's so darn cute in it.

Khalina Rolled Over!!

So I woke up pretty early this morning (out of habit) and looked in on Khalina, who was sleeping like....well a baby! I was in the front room when I heard the baby monitor go off and when I went back into the bedroom she was on her tummy!! Good girl!

So I heard this meowing and I find Friday swinging from the top of my dining room chairs. Silly Kitty.

Happy 4th of July!

So I went to Mom and Dad's house for some good bbq and roasting marshmallows. Yay!

My cat Jinx...well at least he was mine until I got married. He's too much of a hunter to do well in an apartment. I miss my boy.

We were roasting marshmallows in my parents outdoor fire pit. I can't remember the last time I has s'mores. You can't see, but Dad was pushing my marshmallows into the fire so they burst into flames. Oh well, they were still good. HA, foiled again dad!
